PLT 62 INK TECHNICAL DATA SHEET

APPLICATIONS
To use on ABS, SAN, copolymers, rigid PVC, mat polystyrene, soft PVC, PMMA, PET-A, polycarbonate, polystyrene.

FEATURES
Acrylic – PVC based ink.

Mono and bicomponent ink, matte appearance and very fast drying. Flexible, resistant to perspiration of the hands, to light, abrasion, water and atmospheric agents, to heat, alcohol, gasoline.

Non-toxic ink (NT) in compliance with European standard EN 71 / part 3 and with the 2011/65/EC European Directive (RoHS 2).

PROCESSING

If you want to use ink as a two component, mix the ink with the special PLHDA or PLHDI catalyst in a

10 : 1 ratio (10 parts ink and 1 part catalyst). Mix and strongly dilute the ink by using the PL017 thinner in the measure of max. 15-30%. When printing fine details or screened images (e.g. 80/120 lines per cm2) in warm environments, we recommend you add the PL018 retardant in a percentage of max. 5-20%.

CAUTION!

The catalyzed ink must be consumed within 6-8 hours or afterwards it gradually loses its mechanical-chemical resistance and its ability to adhere to the support.

For uniform production quality it is advisable to renew the ink approximately every 4/8 hours of work.

Excessive dilution generates a loss of the covering power, smudges and an imperfect detachment of the ink from the pad. An insufficient dilution causes problems of drawing the ink from the cliché, printing repeatability and dripping of the ink with a consequent decline of the printing quality.

DRYING AND HARDENING

Fast drying ink.

If you would like it to dry in only a few time, you can use hot air circulation ovens (60-80 °C) or high temperature spot devices (air or infrared rays) that can be installed on the piece feeding systems (e.g. rotary tables, conveyors, etc.). The ink is completely hardened after 24-48 hours.

All of the color shades can be mixed with each other. Upon request:

–   special sample colors

–  metallic gold and silver shades ready for use.

ADDITIVES
PL017 thinner.

PL019 fast thinner.

PL018 retardant.

PLHDA catalyst.

PLHDI catalyst.

PRESERVATION
Lifetime about 2 years. Metallic and fluorescent shades have a reduced lifetime (6 months, 1 year).

Conditions for preservation: the package must be sealed tight and put in a dry and cool space.
