CORONA TREATMENT

The corona treatment works to prepare the surface of some plastic materials (such as PE and PP) to better receive the ink. It in fact through the application of a specific electrical energy increases the surface tension of the material, making it more porous and thus favors the ink adhesion. These are two electrodes that are applied on the surface and back of the material to be treated. Among them it forms an electrical discharge in which the molecules are activated, and they hit the surface of the material, opening its molecules and promoting the generation of polar molecules and their link with ink molecules. The system is composed by generator, high voltage transducer and treatment station and operates at a high frequency with semiconductor technology. It is applicable on all Comec Italia machines. The system is applied to the feeder, for this reason must be requested in advance so we can prepare accordingly feeders and supports for its use.
